The Latin Initiative
Scott & Kristi Hudgins
Scott and Kristi, along with their four children, Joy, Chandler, Chad and Chase, served as cross-cultural church planters with the Baptist Bible Fellowship International for 18 years in the Middle East and Colombia. While in Latin America (11 years), God allowed their ministry to expand beyond Colombia as they challenged Latin Americans to embrace the Great Commission. They now lead The Latin Initiative which has the goal of equipping Latin Americans to go to unreached people groups with the Gospel and plant churches. Now working with MANNA Worldwide, Scott & Kristi oversee cross-cultural training and mobilization in Central and South America.
Why does
The Latin Initiative exist?
-
The Great Commission is not culture specific. Jesus commands all his followers from all cultures to make disciples of all peoples.
-
God uniquely shaped the Latin American through his culture and physical appearance to effectively integrate into different ethnic societies.
-
The Latin American church is a great missionary force that has yet to fully realize its potential.
-
The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. To accomplish God's global plan, churches from all cultures must work together as a team.
-
The ultimate goal of missions is that God be glorified by and through all people.
