We began the year with two groups coming to visit. The first group from Springfield, MO helped finish our kid’s area in preparation for kid’s month. The second group from Orizaba, Mexico helped with decorations, ran games during a community fair, and assisted the teachers on the first day of VBS. Both groups worked hard and we can’t thank them enough for the impact they made on both the community and the church members.
Kids month began with a fair for the people of the community. It was a time to connect with families and to invite them to be a part of our Operation Arctic Vacation Bible School. We took the last Sunday of January and each Sunday during the month of February to explore the coolest book on the planet, the Bible! The kids learned songs, had fun science experiments, snacks, but most importantly they learned how they can have a personal relationship with Christ.
In the following Sundays since we concluded our VBS, several of the kids have continued coming. Please pray with us as we desire for these kids AND their parents to come each Sunday and that their lives will be eternally changed!
Conbiba Norte officially called and ordained Albeiro Varon as the pastor. It was our prayer from the very beginning to have a Colombian pastor and God answered that prayer through Albeiro. Pray for him as he leads our church and that God would continue to give him the wisdom and strength to guide the people.
Personal Update In January my last grandparent passed away. I returned to the States for a few days to celebrate my grandpa’s life and be with family. I’m thankful for the hope we have to see him again!
Once I returned from Kansas, I began the process to apply for my visa. A few weeks later I had a three year Colombian visa stamped in my passport! I’m thankful for an easy process and to continue settling into my life and ministry here in Colombia. Please pray for wisdom as I begin looking for a vehicle that will allow me to move throughout our big city all the while keeping me safe.
Your missionary to Colombia,
Ali Alexander
