Lingo Update February 2022

Dear Pastor and Church Family,

When the mother found out she was pregnant with a baby boy, she wasn’t sure she wanted to keep him. She had grown up in our church here in Bogota, but her heart had grown cold towards the God whom she had served so passionately a few years before. She chose to give birth to David and raise him. Today, David is five years old, a beautiful, bright and healthy little boy who loves to come to church with his grandmother and be in our kid’s ministry. As I looked around that day in church several weeks back, my eyes caught glimpses of so many others who God has rescued from very dark situations! I see it in every corner of this ministry. God is so good! It brought me joy, uplifted and encouraged me.

In this challenging season of my life, I get caught up in the grieving process from having lost Craig. I amworking on letting God’s grace consume my grief and NOT my grief consume His grace. Counting myblessings always seems to banish the hopeless feeling of loss. It really does! Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but GOD is the strength of my heart, my portion forever.” I am praising God every day for His presence, His healing, His sustaining power and the ability to move forward (one step at a time), doing life without my best buddy and letting me continue for now here in Colombia.

Please pray for our Discipleship Training School starting up soon. I ask you to pray about giving toward equipment, provision for staff who work with the students while they are in the school. Housing and food are provided while they are in this process, and the students do pay for attending, but it is never enough to cover all their expenses. I love this school and love teaching there.

God is doing some amazing things in the church where I serve. We will be starting a new church this year here in Bogota, and we have a new missionary who grew up in the church and is now leaving for the country of Haiti in two weeks.

My heart is so thankful for all those who sent special gifts at Christmas! Thank you for your faithful giving every month.

Still serving in Colombia,

Fran Lingo
