Bible Studies
If you’ve been following us long, you know we’ve been working on expanding our evangelistic Bible studies. Earlier this year we taught our last church plant how to do studies in homes.
As we work toward starting another church here in our neighborhood, these studies of Mark are becoming a great method of evangelism. It turns out there are a lot of people here who want to understand the gospel; it’s just not easy finding them. But, we’re trying to get creative about that.
Soccer Lunch
We had a special lunch in July with about 15 of the parents from Manna soccer ministry. Very few of them have come to church before, so we’re trying to get them into evangelistic Bible studies. Out of those who came to the lunch, five signed up for Bible studies. Hopefully other parents will also join as we continue inviting them. We are also inviting the parents from the Friday Manna after-school program.
Park Preaching
The first weekend in August, a missions group from the Kansas City area helped us put on an interesting program for kids in two of our neighborhood parks. At the end of that time, we called all of their parents over and Jonathan preached the gospel to them and invited them to Bible studies. Between the two parks, 18 signed up for Bible studies. We’re so thankful for the group that came to help put on these activities!

New Bible Studies
As we write this letter, we are planning to start two or three new Bible studies this week with all the people we just mentioned. We hope to have five to ten people in each study, but more than numbers, we pray that many of them will understand the gospel and believe. Some of these people just might be the founding members of our next church plant. Pray for their salvation over the next months.
Pray for our Neighbor
We’ve become good friends with some of our neighbors, and our girls have become great friends with their daughter. We want to ask you to pray for their daughter, who has some life-threatening heart problems that her doctors are afraid to treat.
New Missionary to Colombia
We’ve been blessed to be able to host a new missionary to Colombia, Rodcelle Unay, on his first survey trip to Colombia. We went on a little tour of Colombia, and Rodcelle preached in almost every city we stopped in. He is diligent in going out constantly to share the gospel in the city, and he’s going to be a great missionary.
Very soon he’ll be back in the Philippines to continue raising support. But, we look forward to his return in a year or two and to meeting his family when they all arrive in Colombia to help start more churches.
If you want to support Rodcelle and his family, call or text the number on our website (417-597-4626), and we’ll show you how.
